Here is the blog I'm gonna be doing to keep everyone updated as to my status and whereabouts for the next several months as I scamper around South America. Hopefully there will be tons of awesome pictures and fun stories. Obviously I would love to hear from all of you guys as well. I will have access to internet fairly regularly for Skype (eric.ahearn), email (eric.ahearn@gmail.com or ema25@case.edu), and Facebook so don't hesitate to keep me posted about whats happening back in the US of A.
So now for an actual update: in 3 days exactly I will be en route to Indianapolis International Airport (I should probably think about starting to pack at some point...) for the 11 hour trip to Quito which includes stops in Cincinnati and Atlanta. The first couple of days there will probably be pretty crazy with school and program orientations, and then I start classes Wednesday. I will update this when I can, but no promises.
Mark Twain said "Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." Let the adventure begin!!

ReplyDeleteI love you!! Be Safe! Don't Get Kidnapped!
Bryan
¡Felicidades y Buena Suerte!
(I retired from The Children's Museum on October 30th and am now living in Florida. Thus.....please use this gmail address, rather than the museum one!)
Feliz año nuevo, Sra. Rich
Safe journeys, my friend!!! I'm sure you'll be making the most of your experience in S.A., and be sure to keep a journal or something!!! A blog is great for the stuff you want everyone to see, but sometimes it's nice to keep little memoirs just for you. :) Much love!!!
ReplyDeleteEric,
ReplyDeleteI have arrived in Chicago. You have arrived in Quito. Here it is 13 degrees. There it is 61 degrees. I conclude, therefore, that you are having 48 more fun than I am having. That is a lot of fun.
Hope your first few days have been Quit-astic. Update with pictures soon and often so I can narrow this fun margin with exotic-locale-photo-assisted daydreaming and related forms of escapism!
